About the event

This two-hour in-person event will offer participants the opportunity to learn more about the practice of Reiki and experience it for themselves. This is not a certification class rather a presentation that includes some elements of the practice such as breathing exercise, meditation, exploring the Reiki precepts, hands-on healing for ourselves, and more. Due to COVID19 guidelines, we will maintain our social distance and will only focus on self-practice.

Reiki is a Japanese healing art that was developed in Japan in the 1920s by Usui Mikao. The original name was “shin shin kaizen Usui Reiki Ryoho” which can be translated as the Usui healing method for the improvement of body and mind. The method has 5 main elements that include breath meditation, the precepts, symbols and mantras, hands-on healing, and the Reiju or blessings.

The practice of Reiki brings balance and harmony in body, mind, and energy. It strengthens the body-mind connection allowing us to relax, center ourselves gain clarity, find peace and a deep connection within ourselves and with the world around us. The practice of Reiki restores the body’s natural rhythm and equilibrium allowing healing to happen.

If you are interested in learning the system of Reiki, please check our in-person classes on our calendar or contact us.
