Reiki in Healthcare
Reiki is not just a hands-on treatment but a way of life. In this course, we will explore more deeply the 5 Reiki precepts that form the foundation of the Usui system of Reiki. They are described from Japanese as "the secret method of inviting happiness in your life through many blessings, the spiritual medicine of many illnesses". The precepts were organized by Mikao Usui as life-guiding principles and "code of practice" to embody in order to create a healthy and balanced life, one filled with greater clarity, ease, peace, and grace. Prerequisite: Usui Reiki I minimum.
REIKI IN JAPAN / HISTORY
This is a two-hour workshop on how Reiki developed in Japan, came to the West, and evolved into the many systems we know. My trip to Japan in March 2018 brought me to understand more deeply the spiritual and cultural background in which the system of Reiki came to be and evolved from to become truly universal. In this presentation, I will share photos of Mount Kurama, documents as well as the interesting connections I found in temples and nature in conjunction with the practice. Prerequisite: Usui Reiki I minimum.
THE JAPANESE ENERGY SYSTEM
Since Reiki is a Japanese spiritual healing practice, understanding it through the Japanese energetic system can help you go deeper into your and practice of Reiki. This course will introduce you to the three main energy centers, how they work, and can be used to support you and your practice. You will also learn how to cultivate your own life force energy, how to strengthen and expand it to create a constant free flow and continuous state of well-being. Prerequisite: Usui Reiki I minimum.
JAPANESE REIKI TECHNIQUES
These techniques were re-discovered in the year 2000 and brought back to the West by Franck Petter Arjava, Reiki Master Teacher. They include Gassho, Kenyoku-ho, Reiji-ho, Byosen Scanning, Gyoshi-ho, Koki-ho, Jackiri-Joka-ho, etc. Prerequisite: Usui Reiki I minimum.
Byosen Reikan Ho is part of the intuitive approach of Reiki treatments. It is taught in level I or Level II depending on the system of Reiki you are learning. Sensing Byosen is an important element when performing Reiki treatments as it allows us to identify areas of imbalances in our body (physical and energetic) to address them more effectively. Prerequisite: Usui Reiki I minimum.
The practice of meditation is one of the 5 key elements in the system of Reiki. This course will help you develop mindfulness in your life and integrate meditation in your Reiki practice. You will learn a few traditional Reiki meditations that will help you gain greater clarity, grounding, and peacefulness in your life. Prerequisite: Usui Reiki I minimum.
This course will introduce you to the use of sound in your Reiki practice. More specifically, it will lead you to learn how to chant the mantras of the Reiki symbols to heal and transform your life. Intoning sacred sounds invoke unique vibrational cosmic energies that have the capacity to shift human consciousness, leading to new levels of awareness and transformation of body-mind and spirit. Chanting can also have deep clearing effects and the capacity to enhance any healing experience. Prerequisite: Usui Reiki II minimum
