VERONIQUE FREDE

Reiki & Mindfulness Teacher/Practitioner

Background

As a third-generation practitioner from a French lineage of traditional healers called "coupeurs de feu" ("fire cutters"), my journey in the mysteries of life started at a young age, with my grandmother, who was my first teacher. The region where I grew up in the South of France is called Occitania. It is a region of forests, winds, and stones, where natural medicine has been recognized, appreciated, and practiced for a very long time.

I met my husband in Asia where we lived for several years. Traveling around Asia deepened my interest in History, Religions, Eastern philosophy, Asian arts, and cultures. I connected with my roots and capacity as a healer through my children, whose special needs came as special gifts. My journey with Reiki officially started in 2008.

Moonstone Sanctuary was founded in 2012 when I started to practice Reiki professionally.

PRACTICE | LINEAGE

Practice

The foundation of my practice is Reiki, a Japanese spiritual healing system that was developed in the 1900s. It combines meditation, breath-work, mindfulness, chanting, sound, prayers, self-inquiry, and hands-on healing. Through my 15 years of practice, Reiki has become a way of life.

Reiki Lineage

My lineage includes both the Japanese and Western branches as my training has been in the traditional Japanese system of Reiki as well as in its Western modern form. I studied with William Rand, President of the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT) as well as with Frank Arjava Petter and Tadao Yamaguchi while in Japan.  I am currently a graduate student of Frans Stiene, co-founder of the International House of Reiki (IHR).

My Japanese lineage is Usui Reiki Ryoho: Usui Mikao (founder of Usui Reiki Ryoho and Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai)/KanichiTaketomi (3rd President of Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai)/Koyama Kimko (6th President of Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai)/Doi Hiroshi (Member of Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai)/Frans Stiene (IHR)/Veronique Frede
