About the event

.“In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.” ~ Albert Camus

The Winter Solstice marks the first day of winter. It is a time of the year when we experience the longest and darkest nights and the shortest days with the least amount of daylight. This time also marks a turning point …

During winter everything lies dormant in the deep silent earth. It is a time to rest, a time to come in touch with all the parts of ourselves to heal. It is a time to reflect to gain a deeper understanding of what we need to change and create in our life and the world around us. It is a time to regroup, a time to prepare before the Sun's light strengthens and the days grow longer toward spring.

The word solstice comes from Latin sol (“sun”), and sistere (“to stand still”). The sun standing still is a powerful metaphor for the energy available to us during the Winter Solstice to acknowledge endings and new beginnings.

If you hear the calling, please join us. We will journey once again inward to tap into the depth of our healing powers to find the resources we may need to stand still in our light as we enter 2021. Through gentle practice, we will tend and expand our inner light to bring greater clarity into ourselves, our life, our world, and our shared humanity.

This event is hosted online by Full Bloomed Lotus. It is facilitated by Veronique Frede, Reiki Master Teacher in the Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho. All are welcome. There is no prerequisite.

WHAT IS REIKI? The system of Reiki offers a set of gentle, yet powerful spiritual healing practices that promote wholeness and overall well-being. Reiki is a Japanese word that translates as the spiritual power of the universe that animates all living things and connects us all. Reiki practitioners understand that we all have the ability to engage with our own healing power to bring change and harmony not just within ourselves, but also with the world around us.
