WHAT IS REIKI?
Reiki is a Japanese healing art developed in Japan in the 1920s by Usui Mikao. The practice promotes balance, harmony, and quality of life. The original name was “shin shin kaizen "Usui Reiki Ryoho” which can be translated as the "Usui healing method for the improvement of body and mind". The method includes 5 main elements such as breath meditation, the Reiki precepts, symbols and mantras practice, hands-on healing, and the Reiju or blessings.
HOW CAN REIKI HELP YOU?
The practice of Reiki brings balance and harmony to body, mind, and energy. It strengthens the body-mind connection. This allows us to deeply relax, center ourselves, be more present, rest and refresh ourselves, gain mental clarity and stability, find inner-peace, and deepen our connection within ourselves and with the world around us. It also leads us to cultivate kindness and compassion in our daily-life while restoring wholeness. The practice of Reiki reestablishes the body’s natural rhythm and equilibrium allowing healing to happen.
ABOUT THE SELF-CARE PRACTICE
This one-hour online Reiki self-care practice in the traditional Japanese style of Reiki offers participants the opportunity to take a pause during the day to relax, refresh, and come back to their original state of balance. This practice is guided by Veronique Frede, Reiki Teacher. It may include breathing exercises and meditations to feel more present, clear, and centered, hands-on healing on ourselves, navigating through the Japanese energy system to find more balance and connection within ourselves, exploring the Reiki precepts as life-guiding principles, mantra meditation as well as receiving distance healing from the teacher.
